Molasses Popcorn Balls
4 qts popped corn
1 tbsp butter or fortified margerine
1 cp sugar
1 cp molasses
1/2 tsp salt
1 - Melt butter or margerine, add sugar, molasses and salt.
2 - Boil on medium heat until soft crack stage. This is
slightly harder than the hard ball stage.
3 - Pour over corn. Stir corn thoroughly while pouring syrup over it.
4 - Butter hands and immediately shape corn into balls.
5 - One cup hulled peanuts may be added to corn if desired.
Makes 12 - 14 balls.
