1/2 cp finely-chopped suet
1/2 cp washed, scraped and grated carrots
6 large eating apples, washed, peeled, cored, and chopped
2 cps seeded raisins, or currants, soaked and drained
1/2 cp ground leftover cooked beef, or fcooked hamburger
1/2 cp finely-cut citron
1/2 cp candied orange peel
2 tbsp powdered cinnamon
1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
1/2 tsp powdered cloves
1 1/2 cps light molasses or 1 cp brown sugar, and 1/2 cp water
2 cps boiled cider
1 - Mix all ingredients together in agate or enamel kettle, bring to boiling, and boil 5 minutes.
2 - Pack at once into hot sterile glass jars and seal.
3 - Set in cool place 10 days to ripen.
Makes 6 pints
