Sweet-Sour Sliced Cucumber Pickles

9 large cucumbers, washed, pared, sliced thin
4 large onions, washed, peeled, sliced thin
1 pint cider vinegar
1 cp (packed) brown sugar
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp powdered ginger
2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp freshly-ground blck pepper
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp powdered cinnamon
1 - Combine cucumbers and onions in agate or enamel kettle.
2 - Sprinkle wuith salt; cover and let stand 1 hour
3 - Drain.
4 - Add remaining ingredients; mix.
5 - Het slowly to boiling.
6 - Seal at once in hot sterile glass jars.
7 - Let stand a few weeks before unsing.
Makes 4 pints.
