Quick Spiced Peaches
Source: Vintage Recipes from Old Time Pickling and Spicing Recipes - Florence Brobeck (c. 1953)
1 No 2 1/2 can cling peach halves
1/2 cp sugar
1/2 cp cider vinegar
1 tbsp pickling spices
1 - Drain peaches, save sirup.
2 - Add sugar, vinegar, and spices to sirup in agate or enamel kettle.
3 - Boil 10 minutes.
4 - Add drained peach halves; simmer gently 5 minutes.
5 - Remove from heat.
6 - Chill.
7 - Cover fruit and let stand in spiced sirup several hours or overnight, or longer.
Makes about 2 1/2 cups
