2 cps white or cider vinetgar
3 cps (packed) brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp whole cloves
2 (three-inch) sticks cinnamon
4 lbs (about 15) pears, wah=shed, peeled, cored and quartered
1 - Combine vinegar, sugar and spices in an agate or enamel kettle.
2 - Heat to boiling and let boil 5 minutes; add pears, a few at a time; boil gently until pears are tender.
3 - Spoon pears into hot sterile glass jrs; fill to running over with sirup.
4 - Seal at once.
Makes 3 pints.
