Aunt Mary's Divinity Easter Eggs
3 cps sugar
1 cp white Karo (syrup)
1/2 cp water
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 egg whites
1 - Boil sugar, Karo, water, and salt. (If large eggs boil to 260 degrees or long string stage
(hard ball), if small eggs, boil to 238 degrees.)
2 - Slowly pour into egg whites shich have been well beaten.
3 - Add coconut, nuts, raisins, maraschino cherries and pineapple, which have been drained and pressed very dry.
4 - Shape into eggs and cover with 1 large Hershey Milk Chocolate Bar and 1-6 oz pkg of chocolate bits.
5 - Meltover hotmwater in top of double boiler (boiler not to touch water).
6 - Slowly melt chocolate, do not allow steam to touch chocolate.
